CONST. INNOVATION CENTER FOR MUSACEAS AND TROPICAL FRUITS IN COCHABAMBA AND LA PAZ

The purpose of this project is to implement an Innovation Center for Musaceae and Tropical Fruits in the municipality of Chimoré, Cochabamba department, with the aim of contributing to the ongoing process of research, validation, systematization, dissemination and technology transfer. The project had 3 phases: Phase 1: Verification and redesign. Phase 2: Construction execution and complementary activities. Phase 3: Testing period. The project scope includes verification and redesign of the plans and proper execution in each of its stages, framed by the specialty norms and current construction standards, with the aim of achieving an optimal balance among technical, economic, social and environmental aspects for its proper operation. The characteristics of the infrastructure and basic services of the project are: Biotechnology laboratory, Entomology laboratory, Phytopathology laboratory, Soil laboratory, Administrative office area and dormitories, Housing for technical staff, Control booth, Water capture, supply and distribution system for the innovation center, as well as drinking water for consumption. Electrical system, Enclosures, Vehicle and pedestrian circulation areas. Controlled greenhouses, Technified seedling nursery. Conventional nurseries. Technically, the Innovation Center acts as a strategic node for the development and adoption of advanced technologies in the musaceae and tropical fruit sector. By integrating specialized laboratories (biotechnology, entomology, phytopathology and soils), applied research is facilitated in crucial areas such as genetic improvement, integrated pest and disease management, soil management optimization and efficient propagation of high‑quality plant material (technified seedling nursery, controlled nurseries). The supporting infrastructure (offices, housing) ensures continuous operation of the center and effective transfer of research results to producers through dissemination and training. The project is located in the Tropic of Cochabamba, Municipality of Chimoré, where there are 15.3 ha.
